If you wonder why I haven't posted about Oasis lately, it's because we haven't been able to have services out there. The government ordered for all of the houses to be "shifted" to spread out in more land. Even the multi-purpose building where we held church in had to be dismantled and moved.
In short, everyone in Oasis had to tear down there shack and relocate it and rebuild it. John went out there and it literally looked like a hurricane blew through. These pictures are incredible. Can you imagine having to do this in a few days in the sand? The good news is that many of them now how bigger lots, but there living conditions are still very, very impoverished.
We are so blessed - ALL OF US!!!!!
Hopefully the hurricane will be cleaned up and we can have church again this week. John went out last Sunday and tried to help people fix up their homes. He met a new family in Oasis while he was helping them and he was able to invite them to church.
God uses all situations to open doors. Or should I say he uses torn down doors to open doors! :)
