Life

I didn't have the best day. It started off wonderful, but I had to go to the Lab for some blood work for my Stateside Assignment and I was fasting for it. I didn't eat breakfast until almost 9:30 a.m. and my body just had a hard time recovering the rest of the day. Then I came home to a nasty voice-mail and that was a downer. Then I received my lab results on e-mail and it told me that my Cholesterol is 236. So I spent several hours very perplexed as to how it could be that high with all the constant healthy eating, weight loss and excessive exercising that I do. My friend, Jenn, who is a nurse, listened to my lab results over the phone and talk me down from the ledge and was very encouraging about my numbers. It turns out that my numbers are so high because my "good" cholesterol is very high. Keep your HDL high and your LDL low. My LDL is just average, but the good stuff is really high and that is what is getting the number up. She assured me I don't need to worry and that there is probably some genetic issues going on as well. I'll keep my eye on it.

The kids got their report cards today and Jaxson made straight A's (if they were actual grades, that is what they would be). :) Ally made 5 A's and 2 B's and Parker made a few A's, a few B's and 1 C. His C was only one point from a B and he was bummed that he missed honor roll by one point. He is JUST like me in that his lowest scores were in Math, Science, and handwriting and his highest were in Language, spelling and reading. We are identical in so many ways.

I have a 6 year old who is in love with a girl ALREADY! I am greatly discouraging this. She is an older woman and he wrote her an I Love you note and he tells me how pretty she is. We are talking long and hard about this and I just keep telling him about how it is not appropriate. And his response is this...."MOM! I just can't WAIT until I can get married." He's already decided that at 21 (the earliest we will give our permission for marriage) that he is going to get hitched right away. If anyone has any advice about this kind of stuff, I would be happy to listen. My 9 year old acts as if girls aren't even alive, so this is totally different for us.

Tomorrow is the LIVE drawing for the New York City Marathon. I am praying so hard that I get in. Please, Lord, please!!!

John had an AMAZING day of ministy. I hope he will hop on here in the next few days and let you know about it. It is difficult for me to blog about "his" experiences.
