Banging Update

The sledgehammers started this morning at 8:30 a.m. SHARP! That is EARLY - especially for Latin time. We called the portero (the doorman) because Miraflores rules, for an apartment, supposedly say they can't start until 9 a.m. Trust me, it is THAT bad that even a half an hour makes a difference. And you can FORGET about naptime! It goes on constant until 5 or 6 p.m. You can't even hear the tv or radio over all of the banging unless you have them blaring. Anyway, the doorman told them they needed to go home and that they can't work because tomorrow is a holiday (their independence day) and here in Peru most people are off Mon-Wed. of this week. So, the workers took off and now we have 3 more days of silence! I'm sure they will be ready to go first thing on Thursday morning. And now the project will just be dragged out for 3 more days. Oh well! :) Peace for now!
