Concrete Floor

Yesterday John drove out to the South Cone (about 35 minutes) at 8 a.m. in the morning to help lay concrete on the floor I posted about a few days earlier. The family was suppose to have ALL the furniture and their belongings moved out (which trust me, is hardly anything) of the house so that John could buy the concrete and get them going on the process. He didn't want to just give them the money. He wants to see that the concrete is actually poured. Well, he showed up and they were not even there. He tracked them down at the market and they were happy to see him, but they had done NOTHING because honestly.......they didn't really believe he would show up! The lady flat-out told John that she didn't believe he would come. So imagine her surprise when he actually did. And imagine his, when nothing was done! He just left a few minutes ago to "try" again today. They have roped in some neighbors and family members that are going to help this dear family get concrete floors for their ill baby. John said she was so happy she wanted to do it right that moment yesterday, but John couldn't. Can you imagine having so very little that the thought of a concrete floor in your house brought you to tears? Most of us would cringe even if we had dirty ol' linoleum. And concrete would certainly NOT be acceptable. But they live in dirt and for them getting concrete would be like us getting beautiful wood floors. WOW!
